Accredited Academic Program

At Franklin Learning Academy, learning is hands-on, joyful, and aligned to the needs of young learners. In a nurturing, family-style setting, students engage with core subjects through projects, play, and intentional use of technology. Every classroom includes a Smartboard, and each child has access to a personal Chromebook, making lessons interactive and accessible. Classroom routines and enrichment activities help reinforce early academic and developmental milestones.

English Language Arts

Students build early literacy through phonics, storytelling, and writing. Lessons are hands-on and engaging, helping children grow as confident readers and communicators.

Math

Math lessons use visuals, games, and real-life examples to build number sense. Students learn by doing—building a strong base for future success.

Science

Science is active and hands-on. Students explore the natural world, ask questions, and try experiments that spark curiosity and critical thinking.

Social Studies

Through stories and classroom activities, students learn about community, culture, and how people live and work together.

Art

Art and Music & Movement are part of the weekly routine. These classes spark creativity, support fine motor skills, and let kids express themselves.

Physical Education

PE supports health, coordination, and teamwork. Daily movement helps students stay focused and feel their best.

Spanish

With 30 minutes of Spanish instruction each day, children at Franklin start learning a second language from the very beginning. This early start builds strong cognitive skills and gives students a fun, meaningful way to explore the rich diversity of Spanish-speaking cultures around the world.

Instructional Model

Our school is built on a strong foundation of high expectations for academic achievement for all students. Our instructional
model has four key components to achieve strong academic results:

Individualized Instruction

Students participate in a variety of learning activities each day that individualize instruction for each subject area. Students receive whole class instruction, small group instruction, and individual instruction with teachers, technology and other curricular tools.

Properly Certified & Licensed Teachers

Our teachers meet the requirements set forth by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA): Grade-level teaching license/certificate & ability to demonstrate subject area expertise. Our teachers are supported by trainers and participate in continuous, research-based professional development. Our teachers are accountable for student learning and rewarded for high quality performance.

More Time on Task

Our students receive double the instruction in ELA and Math to provide a strong foundation for all learning. Beginning with full-day Kindergarten, our school also follows a longer school day and school year than many other schools.

Short Cycle Assessments

Student knowledge of academic standards is assessed formally and informally in short cycles by each teacher. Our teachers adjust class-level and individual instruction based on student performance in these frequent intervals.
